While on a recent trip to Phoenix, Arizona, I stayed at a beautiful resort called The Royal Palms Resort & Spa. In their gardens, this line of perfectly formed palm trees caught my eye. The only angle from which to see them, was clearly from below, looking up. The symmetry of the trees, combined with the natural desert light against the blue sky and wispy clouds made the image almost surreal. Nature has a beauty that can sometimes look made-up. This was almost like a dream image that I had to capture with paint on canvas. 

Unlike my other works, I didn't want to spend too much time on the details of this painting because It would be "over-thinking" the natural beauty. I used broad brush stokes with a fast-drying acrylic paint and gesso to immediately capture the stunning beauty that transports the viewer to that magical desert scene.
