One of my favorite paintings. Based on the original Salvator Mundi painting by Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci dated to c. 1500. Long thought to be a copy of a lost original veiled with overpainting, it was rediscovered and restored, though no one knows exactly where it is now. 

I liked it, and decided to paint my own interpretation of it. It's rather moving to look into the eyes of Jesus.
