The frame is made from cherry wood with cutouts of the Jerusalem Cross, as a nod to the more traditional Arabic Mashrabiya window screens. The intent was to showcase the various iconic scenes of the Holy Land, bucolic and realistic, as if you are peering out through the window.

Unholy Occupation

(Oil on Gessobord, 2022) Based on a photo taken by Abbas Momani (AFP/Getty Images) of an armed Israeli soldier arresting an 11-year-old Palestinian boy with his arm in a cast on Friday, August 28, 2015 during a protest against settlement construction in the village of Nabi Saleh in the West Bank. The colonial military occupiers of Palestine (a.k.a. Israeli Defense Forces) on average detain 4,500 Palestinians (including hundreds of children) without charge or trial if they protest Israel's illegal occupation -- all while the world looks the other way and aides the human rights abuses.
